Based along North Carolina’s Crystal Coast, Emerald ‘Āina Hula Dancers is a women’s Hawaiian hula group devoted to bringing the spirit of Hawai‘i to festivals and community events throughout the coastal region. Spanning generations and dance experience levels, our group shares a deep love for hula as a sacred art form. In each performance, we don’t just share a story- we embody it.
Hula is more than dance for the group; it’s an expression of connection, culture, and spirit. Our dancers study the history, mythology, and language behind each piece in weekly classes, bringing depth to every movement and story. From ancient kahiko to modern ‘auana, we honor the richness of Hawaiian tradition through a variety of hula styles and time periods, each offering its own unique voice. Through graceful gestures, heartfelt intention, and audience participation, we invite joyful, interactive experiences that welcome all people to feel the aloha.
The group is available for festival performances and for hire at schools, assisted living facilities, festivals, and other events. Please email the director of the group, Amanda to inquire. If you'd like to see clips of our group performing, please visit the reels on FB or IG.
