Join us on the beach for Hawaiian Hula! Classes are typically offered on the beach during the off-season and will vary in location and time of day depending upon the tide, local events, and weather.
Dancing in the sand is hard and requires a different balance skill. I know it sounds fun and pretty, but please keep this in mind. Many of our beaches are sloped but we try to find a flatter area for the group.
After an hour of hula-ing in the sand, you may feel like you've been swimming or snorkeling for awhile! Your appetite may be higher after!
In these classes, no choreography is taught.
You will learn basic foot work, arm gestures, and hand motions.
You are strongly encouraged to attend a class in the studio first to really learn the footwork. Consider dropping in to a week day evening class in Morehead City or attend a workshop, or Polynesian Dance Class.
Announcements will be made on FB and IG with days/times and which beach access along the Crystal Coast we will be meeting at. (Anywhere from Fort Macon to the Pointe at Emerald Isle.)
Payment may be made by Paypal or Venmo below. Cash on-site is accepted also. You are strongly encouraged to register or email Amanda to let her know you'll be coming. In the event the class is cancelled (weather changes), you'll be notified.
*Cancellations are requested 48hrs. prior to start of any event. *Cancellations less than 48hrs. or no shows will result in a forfeit of returned funds. *By registering for this event, you agree to the policy. *Ages 18 and up.
If submitting the $10 payment by Venmo please include your name and which date you'll be attending beach hula. You should receive an email confirmation directly from Amanda within 24 hours. If you do not, please reach out.
Payment confirms registration.
Dates and times are typically posted on Sunday for the following week, as the weather and tides each week determine when we can gather.
