In 2025, members of Emerald 'Āina Hula Dancers were deeply touched when they had the opportunity to share hula with a family whose child was in hospice care, with a final wish to experience Hawaiʻi. That moment opened their hearts and inspired a new hula ministry, led by one of the dancers, Ms. Tisha.
That first performance together was unforgettable and became the seed for a ministry to bring the joy and comfort of hula into our local community.
Starting in 2026, we are bringing a touch of Hawaiʻi and the spirit of aloha to assisted living and hospice communities along the Crystal Coast. Through familiar Hawaiian songs and graceful and fun hula, our performances aim to spark memories of travels and reminders of the classic Hollywood films that first introduced many to Hawaiʻi. And for those whose final wish is to see the islands, we bring Hawaiʻi to them.
